New Training Courses

OCAS will be providing the following training
courses from now to March 2010:

Increases in National Minimum Wage and National Insurance Contributions

From the 1st October 2010 the national minimum wage is increasing to the following rates:
16-17 = £3.64 per hour
18-20 = £4.92 per hour
21+ = £5.93 per hour
 
From April 2011 there will also be an increase in National Insurance Contributions of 1%.
 
Organisations need to take these into account when preparing budgets for next year.

OCAS available at Local Drop In Centres

OCAS and its partners Voluntary Action Oldham, Children & Youth Alliance, The Hub and the Volunteer Centre will be holding informal drop in sessions within Oldham. If you are a voluntary, community or faith group/organisation working in the borough of Oldham, then why not pop in and chat with us to see how we may be able to help you or your group.
 
You can also use this as an opportunity to raise any local issues and concerns affecting you and the communities you work with and if you have ideas and suggestions to make things better, we want to hear from you.
 
The remaining drop in sessions will be held on:
 
Tuesday 7th September, at Wrexham Close, Tenants Hall, Hollinwood, - 6pm - 8pm
Thursday 16th September, at Honeywell Centre, Ashton Road, - 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Wednesday 22nd September, at Wimpole Street Tenants Association, Higginshaw, - 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Job Vacancy - Payroll Bureau Assistant

16 hours p.w. (part time)
Scale 4: pt 18 - £17,161 p.a. pro rata (£7,845 p.a.)
5% Pension Contributions
9 months contract (initially) with a possibility of becoming permanent
 
To assist our busy Payroll Manager in providing a professional service to the Voluntary / not for profit sector. Must have experience of manual payroll calculations and Sage payroll, be computer literate and capable of working to strict time limits
